What is a floor rate, and how does RateBook calculate mine?
The least you can charge per hour and still cover your costs - your overheads, your target take-home, and whatever you set aside for tax. RateBook calculates it from the answers in Quick Start, and you can refine every assumption later in Settings → Your Numbers.
How does debriefing a job work?
Enter what you charged, what it cost you in materials and expenses, and every hour it took - including quoting and driving. RateBook shows your true earned rate for that job right away.
Is my data stored anywhere but my phone?
No. RateBook has no server and no account system - your rate profile and job history live only on your device.
What happens to a job I delete by mistake?
It sits in Recently Deleted for 30 days before it's permanently removed, so you have a month to restore it.
Does RateBook calculate my tax for me?
No, deliberately. You tell RateBook the percentage you personally set aside, and that's the only number it uses - RateBook never files anything or claims to know your actual tax liability.
