UnitX privacy policy

Summary

UnitX is made by Animesh Sharma ("we," "our," or "us"). Your conversions are processed on your device. The camera and microphone are used only to read a label or hear a spoken conversion - neither the images nor the audio are stored or sent to us. The one thing UnitX does collect is anonymous crash and usage data through Apple, described below.

Camera and Microphone

Camera. We request camera access strictly to use Apple's text-recognition framework to scan physical labels for unit conversion. Images are processed locally on your device and are never stored, saved, or transmitted to our servers.

Microphone. We request microphone access strictly to allow voice-to-text unit conversions. Your voice data is processed by Apple's standard speech-to-text API. We do not record, store, or transmit your audio data.

Crash Reports and Analytics

We may collect anonymous, non-identifying crash reports and app usage analytics via standard Apple App Store Connect analytics, to help improve the app's performance. It is the only information described in this policy that leaves your device.

What UnitX Does Not Do

• No storing or transmitting of the images your camera reads
• No recording, storing or transmitting of your audio
• No selling, trading or renting your data to any third party, for any reason
