PaceX privacy policy

Introduction

We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the PaceX iOS application.

Data We Collect and How We Use It

PaceX is designed to process all calculations on-device to maximize your privacy.

• On-Device Storage: Your last-used pace, distance preferences, custom race distances, training zones, and calculation history are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage. This data never leaves your device.
• In-App Purchases: PaceX Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We do not see your payment information. Apple's privacy practices for purchases apply.
• Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, non-identifying crash reports and app usage analytics (via standard Apple App Store Connect analytics) to help us improve the app's performance.

Health Data

If you choose to import a recent run, we request permission to read your workout and running/walking distance data from Apple Health. This data is used only to estimate your VDOT and suggest training paces, and is processed and stored on your device only. We never write to Health, and health data is never transmitted off your device. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → PaceX.

Location Data

Race Mode uses your device's GPS to track the distance and pace of a run in progress; this data is used only to calculate your result and is not uploaded anywhere. We also use an approximate location to look up race-day weather and altitude conditions. Location is only accessed while the app is in use, is never collected in the background, and we do not build or store a history of your location.

iCloud Sync

To prevent loss of your data across devices or reinstalls, we sync your race history and VDOT and training-zone settings using Apple's iCloud key-value storage, through your own iCloud account. This data is stored in your iCloud account, not on any server we operate, and we cannot access it. You can disable this by turning off iCloud Drive for PaceX in iOS Settings.

Notifications

If you start a free trial and allow notifications, we schedule a single local reminder before your trial ends. This notification is generated entirely on your device; there is no push notification server, and we never send marketing notifications.

Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to any third parties.
