JobBook privacy policy

Summary

JobBook is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not operate any server that stores your business, client, or job information, we do not require an account, and we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs. Nearly everything below describes data that stays on your iPhone or iPad unless you personally choose to move it (for example, by exporting a backup or restoring purchases).

Information You Provide

When you use JobBook, you may enter:

• Client names, contact details, and notes
• Job sites, addresses, and access notes
• Jobs, schedules, checklists, and pricing/invoice notes
• Photos attached to jobs
• App settings and preferences

This data is stored only in the App's local database and local file storage on your device. We do not transmit it to us or to any third party, and we cannot see it.

Contacts

If you tap "Add from Contacts," iOS shows you the system contact picker. JobBook only reads the specific contact(s) you select to pre-fill a new client — it does not read or scan your full address book, and this happens entirely on-device.

Calendar

If you enable calendar publishing in Settings, JobBook writes your job schedule as events into your device's default Apple Calendar, using Apple's EventKit framework, entirely on-device. JobBook never reads your existing calendar events and this feature is off by default. Turning it off removes the events JobBook created.

Photos

Photos you attach to a job are saved as image files in the App's local storage on your device. They are only included in an export if you create a backup file yourself.

Messages

If you use JobBook's reminder/messaging feature, it opens the iOS Messages app with a pre-filled draft. JobBook does not send the message — you review and send it, and JobBook does not have access to your message history.

Backups You Create

Settings → Backup lets you export a single file containing your clients, jobs, sites, checklists, notes, and photos. This file is created and stored wherever you choose to put it (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, etc.) — JobBook does not upload it anywhere on your behalf. You are responsible for the security of any backup file once it leaves the App.

Notifications

Job reminders and daily digests are scheduled as local notifications on your device using Apple's notification framework. No notification content is sent to or through any external server.

Purchases

JobBook offers a one-time "lifetime unlock" purchase handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. Payment details are collected and processed by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and Apple's Privacy Policy — we do not receive or store your payment information. We only receive confirmation from Apple of whether the purchase entitlement is active on your account, used solely to unlock paid features.

Diagnostic Logs

JobBook keeps a small local log file on your device to help you (and, if you contact us, us) troubleshoot problems like a failed calendar sync or notification. This log stays on your device and is never automatically transmitted anywhere. If you contact support about a bug, we may ask you to describe or share relevant details voluntarily.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, and JobBook does not contain code to collect: analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports sent to us, location data, or any personal information transmitted to our servers — because we do not operate any servers that receive App data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, because we do not have access to it in the first place. The only third party involved in using JobBook is Apple, for App Store purchases as described above.

Children's Privacy

JobBook is a business tool for tradespeople and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your Control Over Your Data

Because all data lives on your device:

• Access/Export: Use Settings → Backup → Export to get a complete copy of your data at any time.
• Deletion: Delete individual records within the App, or delete the App itself to permanently remove all locally stored data. We have no copy to delete on our end.
